Especially when it comes to kitchenware: A lot of the stuff in there is bitty, spill-y, poke-y, unusually formed, and normally difficult to move. Plus, no one wants to invest a lot of loan on packaging materials that you just throw away (or pass along) at the end of your relocation.
Here are 3 wise packing tips that'll assist make it all a little less bothersome.
1. Put knives in oven mitts.
Knives can literally be dangerous to move. If they're not covered up correctly, they can slide around and cut you or whoever is moving your stuff. It's just as hazardous on the unpacking end-- the last thing you desire to do is reach into a box of utensils and slice a finger open.
2. Seal off your lids.
That's fantastic for spraying spices onto food, but less terrific when moving (unless you want a box complete of salt). What to do: Eliminate the cover, cover the opening with a bit of plastic wrap, and screw the cover back on.
3. Wrap up your drawers.
If you keep your kitchenware in stand-alone systems like a rolling cart, buffet, or sideboard, you likely have perfectly arranged drawers that would be a pain to repack and unpack on either end. Save yourself the problem: Pull check here out the drawer, cover it in plastic wrap, and here move it still filled. Depending on how heavy the furnishings is, you most likely would have wanted to take the drawers out to move it anyway, so this can conserve you hours of packing and unpacking.
